    On your wedding day you want everything to be perfect! We at Carrington Motor Coach & Limousine Service would like to share with you some basic tips and guidelines to follow when hiring your bridal transportation.

• Can you check and see if the date and time period is available for my wedding date?

• How long has your company been in business with the same owner and are you locally owned and operated?

• What style and color limousines or classic cars do you offer?

• How many passengers can legally and safely ride in the limousine?

• What features or appointments do your limousines have in them?

• Does your company keep your cars cleaned properly and detailed to appear as new?
  (Be sure and check the cleanliness in and around the doors very carefully to be sure you will not have your dress and formal ware ruined by dirt and grease.)

• Do you offer bridal packages or special amenities with the limousine?

• Are your limousines properly licensed and insured under Ohio Law?

• Are your limousines QVM and federally certified to be safe?

• Do you have any mileage or time restrictions on the cars?

• What if we are running late and need to extend our time, will this be possible?

• Do your chauffeurs wear uniforms or tuxedos and are they well groomed?

• Have your chauffeurs been professionally trained? If so, by whom?

• Do your chauffeurs have good driving records and are they drug and alcohol tested on a regular basis?

• May we come out to your office and look at the car that you offer?
  (It is highly recommended and very important that you personally look at the vehicles before making a decision on your bridal transportation!)

    Many companies in this area are operating without proper licenses or insurance. Many operators are also using improper and illegally built vehicles which are not federally approved, nor do they meet any of the safety guidelines set forth by law. They are also disregarding Ohio Law and overloading their vehicles which can jeopardize the safety of you and your guests.

It is extremely important to make sure the transportation service you hire is Legally Licensed, Certified, and Ethical in ALL regards. After all, isn't the safety of you and your guests just as important?

    Ask your photographer how long the photos will take after the ceremony. He or she should be able to give you a very good idea. Remember the limousine service may have another wedding booked after yours and won't be able to extend your time. All legitimate limousines services will have a 3 or 4 hour minimum rental.

    Be wary of companies that will not allow you to view the limousines at their office. You want to personally look at the company's limousines and operation to ascertain for yourself the quality of service you will obtain for your money. Also be wary of companies who don't publish their address in the phone book or companies who don't accept credit cards. These are signs of an illegal operator. Never let the price determine who you rent from. If you want a reliable, professional, and legal service you will have to pay a little more.

    You should reserve your limousine(s) as soon as you have a date and time set. Make sure you plan well in advance. Make certain that you receive a written confirmation from the service. Most services will require a minimum NON-refundable retainer with the balance payable before the wedding date or on that actual day at the first pickup location. Be sure to ask what method of payment is accepted at the pickup location. Special restrictions apply to credit card and check payments. Be sure to reserve far in advance!

    Generally, your time starts when the chauffeur picks up the first passenger, and it ends when the last passenger is dropped off at the end of the trip. However there are exceptions, such as being picked up or dropped off outside of a companies local area. In this case, additional charges may apply.

    Be very wary of a company the tells you they will split time. Weekly, Carrington Motor Coach & Limousine Service is called by a panicked bride because the limousine she has hired for her one hour booking or after reception pickup has had a mysterious breakdown. More often, what has happened is the company has received a longer more profitable booking for their car, suddenly making that "one hour booking" an unattractive venture. All legitimate companies will have a 3 or 4 hour minimum rental.

    Before you hire your bridal transportation, you will want to determine the number of guests that you want to accommodate. You may also want to consider transportation for the parents, grandparents, or for your out of town guests. Since formal wear will require additional room, it is important that you consider the following before making a decision on your transportation.

    First, you will need to determine the level of comfort required for you and your guests, A standard limousine will seat 4 to 6 and will have 6 seat belts, a super or mega stretch limousine will seat up to 8 passengers and will have 8 seat belts.

    All limousine manufacturers are required, by law, to follow builder specifications on the amount of weight and number of passengers they may safely, comfortably, and legally carry. No limousine manufacturer can certify a limousine to carry more than 8 passengers. Any service that tells you differently is deceiving you and is jeopardizing your safety.
